The ministry challenge

Young adults attend but leave without knowing anyone's name.

The idea

Recruit hosts, match people to tables by neighborhood, and give every table a simple question card.

Why it creates connection: Eight weeks of shared meals in homes, hosted by young adults themselves.

Who it's for

Ages 20-35 — a good fit for young adults and groups ministry teams who want to build relationships, welcome new people, increase participation.

How it works

  1. 01

Recruit and train hosts with a one-night gathering.

  2. 02

Sign-up night: people choose a table by neighborhood.

  3. 03

Weekly dinners with a question card and a short prayer.

  4. 04

Final night: all tables gather for one big meal.

What materials are needed

Communication plan and suggested timeline

A simple rhythm for promoting it well. Put the dates on your church communications calendar so nothing becomes urgent.

  1. 4–6 weeks before

Brief your team and ministry leaders on Find Your People. Lock the dates, the one-sentence invitation, and who owns each piece.

  2. 3 weeks before

Announce it from the stage and in your email. Start social posts and a website feature.

  3. 2 weeks before

Put printed pieces in people's hands — bulletin insert, cards, or posters. Share the sign-up or next step clearly.

  4. Week of

Final reminder across slides, email, and social. Personally invite people who are on the edge.

  5. During (8 weeks)

Keep in-person touchpoints warm — greeters, tables, and leaders who know the plan.

  6. After

Say thank you, share one story of what happened, and point people to the next step.
