The ministry challenge

Women's events fill up, but conversations stay on the surface.

The idea

Three evenings, three storytellers, and table conversations guided by a keepsake journal.

Why it creates connection: Pairs younger and older women at tables and hands them a shared journal.

Who it's for

Women of all ages — a good fit for women ministry teams who want to build relationships, create conversations, create memorable experiences.

How it works

  1. 01

Each evening features one woman's story, told live.

  2. 02

Intergenerational tables discuss with journal prompts.

  3. 03

Women write a letter to a younger woman in their life.

  4. 04

Final night: letters are shared and prayed over.

What materials are needed

This idea uses print, digital, in-person pieces in these formats: Event, Journal, Print, Video. Prep takes about 8 hours; cost is $$.

Communication plan and suggested timeline

A simple rhythm for promoting it well. Put the dates on your church communications calendar so nothing becomes urgent.

  1. 4–6 weeks before

Brief your team and ministry leaders on Stories of Her. Lock the dates, the one-sentence invitation, and who owns each piece.

  2. 3 weeks before

Announce it from the stage and in your email. Start social posts and a website feature.

  3. 2 weeks before

Put printed pieces in people's hands — bulletin insert, cards, or posters. Share the sign-up or next step clearly.

  4. Week of

Final reminder across slides, email, and social. Personally invite people who are on the edge.

  5. During (3 evenings)

Keep in-person touchpoints warm — greeters, tables, and leaders who know the plan.

  6. After

Say thank you, share one story of what happened, and point people to the next step.
